TripoSIM compatible devices

A model name is only the first check. To use TripoSIM, the device needs eSIM hardware, the feature must be enabled for that regional model, and the phone must be unlocked from its original carrier.

The quickest reliable check

  1. Dial *#06#. If the phone shows an EID alongside its IMEI, eSIM hardware is present.
  2. Open the SIM settings and look for Add eSIM or Add Cellular Plan.
  3. Check the exact model number—not only the marketing name—against the manufacturer and TripoSIM lists.
  4. Confirm the phone is carrier-unlocked before buying.
An EID does not prove the phone is unlocked. Hardware support and carrier permission are separate. A locked device can show Add eSIM and still reject another provider’s profile.

The official TripoSIM checker currently lists 119 compatible entries and four unsupported examples. Recheck it before purchase.

Check an iPhone properly

  1. Open Settings → General → About.
  2. Look for EID and, under Carrier Lock, “No SIM restrictions”.
  3. Open Settings → Cellular or Mobile Service and confirm Add eSIM is available.
  4. Check the model number if the phone was bought in mainland China or another market with regional differences.

Check Samsung, Pixel and other Android phones

On Samsung, open Settings → Connections → SIM manager and look for Add eSIM. On Pixel, use Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add SIM. Other manufacturers may place the option under Mobile network. If the menu is absent, search the exact model number on the manufacturer’s support site; a software update will not add missing eSIM hardware.

Devices that need extra caution

Carrier-financed phoneAsk the original carrier to confirm the unlock status before purchase.
Mainland China modelSome phones sold there have a different SIM configuration from international versions.
SmartwatchTravel phone eSIMs generally do not replace the watch plan supplied by a home carrier.
Wi-Fi-only tabletA tablet needs a cellular model with eSIM support; Wi-Fi hardware alone is not enough.

If the QR code is rejected

  1. Check whether the TripoSIM profile already appears in SIM settings.
  2. Confirm the QR was not installed on another phone; TripoSIM says one code is for one device and cannot be transferred.
  3. Try manual SM-DP+ details when they were supplied.
  4. Record the exact message and contact support before deleting anything.

Can a TripoSIM eSIM be moved?

Do not plan on transferring an installed profile to a replacement phone. The official setup guidance treats the QR code as device-specific. If the handset is lost, replaced or reset, contact support with the order number instead of assuming the original QR can be scanned again.

It works on supported, unlocked models, generally iPhone XR/XS and newer, subject to regional differences.

Why is Add eSIM missing?

The model may lack eSIM, the feature may differ by region, or carrier firmware may restrict it.
