Before scanning the QR code
- Confirm eSIM compatibility and carrier-unlocked status.
- Check every destination and required day on the exact package.
- Read when validity begins.
- Save the QR code, manual activation code, APN and order number offline.
- Do not scan the code with the same phone unless it can display it on another screen or supports photo recognition.
Installation on iPhone
- Open Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR code or enter the supplied details manually.
- Name the new line “TripoSIM” so it is easy to identify.
- Keep the home number as the default voice line if required.
- Leave cellular-data switching off to prevent home-line roaming data.
Installation on Android
Menu names differ by manufacturer. Look under Settings → Network & Internet, Connections or SIM manager → Add eSIM. Scan the code, name the line, and keep it disabled until the provider’s activation instructions say to connect.
After landing
- Enable the TripoSIM line.
- Select it for cellular data.
- Apply the plan’s data-roaming instruction.
- Keep the home SIM’s data roaming off.
- Wait for registration, then test a normal web page and maps.
Manual installation
If the QR code will not scan, TripoSIM’s FAQ says manual activation details can be entered. Use the supplied SM-DP+ address and activation code exactly as written. A QR code may be single-use.
Next step
Use the TripoSIM troubleshooting checklist if registration fails, read the refund guide before removing anything, or return to the independent TripoSIM review.
Activation FAQ
Can I install TripoSIM before travelling?
Yes when the package permits it, but verify whether installation starts validity.
Should data roaming be on?
Follow the exact package instructions. Travel eSIMs commonly require roaming on the travel line while it remains off on the home line.
Can I reuse the QR code?
Do not assume so. Treat it as single-use unless support confirms otherwise.
